Fully automatic
Your workers don't have to do a thing. The phone can simply stay in their trouser pocket. The app notices by itself when someone arrives on site and when they leave — through the site zone, automatically via GPS — and registers the check-in and check-out for Check In at Work. Nobody has to press anything, nobody can forget it.
An inspection drops by? Everything is in order, for everyone on site. Your subcontractors included.
Phone left at home? A QR code at the entrance serves as a backup — one scan and that registration is in too.
- No badges
- No time clock
- No box on the site cabin
- No extra hardware

Your hours, straight from the site
Today you wait for paper timesheets that come in late and that the office has to retype — hours written down from memory on Friday evening, nicely rounded. Rarely in your favour.
With AutoCheckIn you see live what time everyone arrives at and leaves the site — your subcontractors included. Exact hours, the same day, ready to invoice.
All about time tracking in construction- No more retyping paper timesheets
- Exact arrival and departure times, per site

- Invoice on real figures, the same week
New rules ahead
Ready for 2027
Check In at Work (CIAW) has existed since 2014, but on 1 April 2027 it gets stricter: not only checking in but also checking out becomes mandatory, registration must happen at the moment itself (registering in advance is no longer allowed) and every worker must do it themselves — on arrival and on departure. Anyone who is not compliant risks hefty fines.
With AutoCheckIn you are ready for those rules today: check-in and check-out happen automatically, on the site itself, in the name of every worker.

Frequently asked questions
Everything construction companies ask us about Check In at Work (CheckinAtWork / CIAW) and the registration obligation in construction.
What is Check In at Work?
Check In at Work (also written CheckinAtWork, abbreviated CIAW) is the mandatory electronic attendance registration of the NSSO (RSZ/ONSS) on large construction sites. Everyone who works on such a site — employees, self-employed workers and subcontractors — must be registered. AutoCheckIn automates that site registration: your workers are checked in and out on site automatically, ready for the mandatory check-in and check-out of 2027.
What does the abbreviation CIAW stand for?
CIAW stands for CheckInAtWork, the electronic attendance registration on construction sites with the NSSO. You will also see CAW or CIAOW (Check In and Out at Work, adding the check-out from 2027). It always means the same thing: recording who is present on the site. AutoCheckIn makes sure every worker is checked in and out on site automatically — ready for the check-out that becomes mandatory from 2027.
From what amount is Check In at Work mandatory?
The CheckinAtWork obligation applies to construction sites with a total value of €500,000 (excl. VAT) or more. If your site is above that threshold, everyone who works there must be registered — including subcontractors and the self-employed. From 2027, mandatory check-out and real-time registration are added.
What changes for CheckinAtWork in 2027?
On 1 April 2027, check-out becomes mandatory alongside check-in. Registering in advance will no longer be allowed: every worker must check in and out themselves, at the moment itself and on the site itself. Anyone who is not compliant risks fines. Read all the details on our Check In and Out at Work 2027 page.
Do I need extra hardware?
No. No badges, no time clock, no box on the site cabin. The phone your worker already carries is enough. At the entrance you hang a QR poster at most, as a backup.
What about subcontractors and freelancers?
You add them just as easily as your own people — with name, national register number and mobile number. €7 per user per month excl. VAT, subcontractors and freelancers included. Someone no longer works for you? Set them to inactive and their billing stops.
What if a worker doesn't have a smartphone?
Then they scan the QR code at the entrance on arrival and departure, using a colleague's or the site manager's phone. That way they are registered correctly too. In practice almost everyone has a phone in their pocket — and then everything happens by itself.
How much does AutoCheckIn cost?
€7 per user per month excl. VAT — for everyone you add and keep active, including subcontractors and freelancers. If you set someone to inactive, their billing stops. You start with 30 days free, no payment card needed, and you can cancel monthly.
Does it work without signal on site?
Yes. No signal in the basement or on a remote site? The registrations are simply stored on the phone and sent as soon as there is a connection again. Nothing gets lost.
Can I see what time my people arrive at and leave the site?
Yes, live. Every arrival and departure is registered at the moment itself and appears in your overview straight away — per site and per person, subcontractors included. That way you replace paper timesheets that come in late with exact hours, and you can invoice faster. Read more on our page about time tracking in construction.
